About Us

Begin with a philosophical question:

“WHAT IS A GOOD CUP OF TEA?”

Driven by a passion for excellence, we dedicate ourselves to perfecting "a good cup of tea." Through careful experimentation, we've refined our selection, water quality, brewing techniques, and tea sets. Our mission is to blend modern science with contemporary Chinese aesthetics, ensuring each cup offers an unforgettable experience for our cherished friends.

FOUNDER

WING YEUNG

Wing Yeung's journey began in the enticing world of high-end foreign wines, where she developed a deep appreciation for premium single malt whiskey and Burgundy red wine. This experience allowed her to master the art of objective evaluation through Western taste science and hone her food pairing expertise.

With a passion for innovation, she later founded Being & Tea, creating a structured approach to tea selection. Wing is committed to revitalizing the traditional Chinese tea ceremony and enthusiastically promotes the joy of savouring high-quality tea and its exquisite food pairings through inspiring initiatives.

TEA FLAVOR WHEEL

The Selection of Tea

The Being & Tea expert team has established a selection mechanism based on taste science, specifically designed for tea. This mechanism evaluates various factors including aroma, taste, tea body, aftertaste, and other conditions, and is strictly followed when purchasing tea.

Our tea must be free from any negative flavours, such as pesticides, ammonia, soot, rotten wood, and similar substances.

We guarantee the quality and safety of our tea.

QUALITY & SAFETY

The Strictest Testing Standard of the European Union

Being & Tea's tea has been submitted to a European laboratory for testing of over 600 pesticide residues and 8 heavy metals, without preservatives and artificial colours, to ensure its quality and safety.

Our Tea

Being & Tea IS COMMITTED TO CAREFULLY SELECTING THE BEST QUALITY TEA LEAVES FOR TASTE, COMPLEXITY, MOUTHFEEL, AND AFTER-TASTE.

TEA SET

Previous rock tea is very sensitive to temperature changes. In addition to paying attention to the temperature of the brewing water, there is also a requirement for the heat preservation performance of the tea utensil.

PURPLE POTTERY

Being & Tea tested a variety of tea-ware materials and ultimately found that Jianshui purple pottery perfectly met the requirements.

Well-suited for brewing rock tea. Purple pottery does not contain sand particles and boasts high hardness, good airtightness, and stable temperature and humidity levels, which enhance its storage capabilities. Additionally, the high-density clay used in Jianshui purple pottery prevents the aroma substances from being absorbed by the tea utensils, allowing the tea fragrance to be more pronounced.

WHITE PORCELAIN

Being & Tea White porcelain is coated with a high-temperature colour glaze, and jade clay is used for the porcelain body. This results in high light transmittance, exceptional whiteness, and a natural jade-like texture.

High-temperature color-glazed porcelain has strict requirements for kiln placement, temperature, atmosphere, and glaze thickness, making it challenging to fire. Additionally, due to the unpredictability of high-temperature colour glazes, each piece is unique and cannot be replicated, adding to its value for collectors and appreciation.

JIANZHAN

Being & Tea JIANZHAN is custom-made in Jianyang. After extensive testing, it has been proven to effectively enhance both the aroma and smooth taste of tea. The body of the Jianzhan features high-temperature glaze firing crystals, showcasing a unique aesthetic of both irregularity and regularity, with each piece being one of a kind. Additionally, it becomes even more vibrant when warmed in tea soup, making it highly valuable for tea tasting.
